1Why tax documents wait for your accountant
Invollc prepares the documents that end up in a tax filing from your own records: the Form 5472 pack, the list of contractors who may need a Form 1099-NEC, and the K-1 summaries for LLCs with more than one member. A wrong number there can cost a penalty, so they stay locked until an accountant you connect has checked them. The figures behind them (income, expenses, money between you and the LLC) stay visible and editable as always.
2Invite your accountant
Go to Settings → Team, type their email and choose the Accountant role. It is free and does not use a seat. We email the invitation; you can also click Copy link and send it on WhatsApp or Slack. The link works only for the address you invited, and they sign in with their own login (Google, passkey or password).
Accountants see everything in read-only and cannot change your records. The one thing they can do is approve your tax documents.
3Ask for the check
When the year is complete, open Deadlines & 5472 or Contractors and click Ask to check it. Your accountant gets an email. They can:
- approve the document as Invollc prepared it;
- upload their own version as a PDF, which replaces ours everywhere, year-end pack included;
- send it back with a note saying what to fix. You see the note in the app and by email.
You get an email as soon as they decide. Once approved, the document is unlocked and goes into the year-end pack.
4For accountants
Every client who invites you shows up in My clients: one card per LLC with its state, the next deadline and what waits for your review, first the ones that need you. From a card you open the client's books in read-only, look at the draft and decide. Invollc is free for accountants.
Your accountant works for you, not for Invollc. Their approval is their professional judgement.
